If you’re planning a wedding, one of the most important things to get sorted out is your photographer! You want to make sure you find someone who is experienced, enjoys what they do, and can give you the perfect pictures to remember your special day. So, it’s really important you ask the right questions to get as much information as possible.
Don’t be afraid to ask anything! The photographer is a really important piece to your wedding and asking them questions is the best way to ensure you’re picking the right one. So, I’ve put together a list of 5 questions to ask your wedding photographer before hiring them!
1. What’s included in your packages?
The first question to ask is what packages does the photographer offer? You want to make sure you get all of the services you need at an affordable price, so this is an important question to ask. Most photographers will have standard packages, but some offer different levels.
2. How long is the delivery time for the pictures?
The second question is how long is the delivery time for the pictures? You don’t want to wait forever to get your photos, let alone your album. Standard delivery time is 4-8 weeks, but every photographer is different. So definitely make sure to ask your photographer when you can expect to receive the pictures.
3. How many photos can I expect to receive / how will I receive them?
Third, you should ask how many photos you can expect to receive, and how you’ll receive them. Most photographers will give you an approximate number of how many photos, and then either send them digitally or put them on a disk. There are a lot of different methods, so make sure what they offer is what will work best for you!
4. Can I see a whole album from a past wedding session?
Fourthly, ask to see a complete album from a past wedding session. This is a really great way to get an idea of the photographer’s style and how great they make the couple look during the session. You can see different settings and lighting they’ve worked with, what kind of posing they do, and a deeper look at their editing style.
5. Can I customize a package to fit my needs?
Finally, ask if you can customize a package to fit your needs. As I mentioned earlier, a lot of photographers have different levels of packages. So, it’s really important to know if they are willing to customize one to fit your exact needs. With this, you have the flexibility to pick and choose exactly what services you would like to include in your package.
